WELCOME TO INTERCONNECTION WORLD

Based in western Massachusetts, wiring harness maker MicroTek exemplifies the idea that diversity in the workforce is what makes companies stronger.

The company was founded 26 years ago with the sole purpose of providing a meaningful workplace for people with disabilities, according to CEO Anne Paradis. After weathering the economic storms of earlier this year, the company is now rebounding “like gangbusters,” she says.

Fifteen of MicroTek's 110 employees have disabilities. The use of visual layout boards for assembly is just one of many techniques the company uses to train and integrate these employees into its work environment.
